Charming! The embroidery on the fabric is so exquisite... a little elven fashion in the 60's!

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm not an expert sewer, but I am slow and careful, and I had a great teacher, my grandmother.

Heather, that's funny because I almost didn't use that hanger photo as it is so bad. But I didn't have time to retake it and I want to give an idea of the fabric...

Karen, there were some really pretty clothes in the late 70s, so there's hope for you yet!

I must say that the hanger photo had me worried, it doesn't hang like much but on you it looks fabulous.... well done.

You look lovely and your sewing skills are amazing. You rock those culottes! Thank you for sharing this photo!
And thank you for explaining the Big Girl Clothes Theory. Now I know where my psychedelic dress addiction comes from.

Wow! Once again, I am jealous of the sewing skills of others and *really* wish I'd let my mom teach me more about sewing when I was younger. That looks fab on you, Lizzie. I love the fabric, the cut, the buttons--everything! A perfect summer dress.

Your dress theory scares me a little, as it would mean I'm secretly coveting a lot of late 1970s polyester. I did have older cousins whose disco era clothes I loved wearing as a youngster, so there may be some truth to it!

You've made a fabulous job of that dress, and it looks great on you!

I have similar reservations about culottes too, although I can 'see' how they are practical and comfortable. Perhaps if I found an original 30s pair by Schiaparelli I might change my mind!

I was just about to say- adorable and looks comfortable! I love sundress weather, and would like to clone a few of the dresses I have, I'd wear them all the time!
